Scott and team completely renovated (stripped the walls to studs, new subfloors and new plumbing) two bathrooms, structural renovations to the master bedroom/walk-in closet, re-faced our fireplace in addition to replacing windows and skylights.
We appreciated Scott’s attention to detail; which showed through in all aspects of our renovations, but in particular, the tile work on the floors and walls. The time spent on the prep work to discuss options and tile patterns before the actual install, which resulted in a superior finished job!
His drywall, especially the rounded corners, was meticulous so painting or tile work looked great.
Scott managed his suppliers and sub-trades to ensure that all work and materials were up to his and our standards. His fastidiousness ensured that counter tops, splashguards and cabinetry fit exactly into corners. Any joints and all edges were perfect.
At the end of everyday all work areas were thoroughly cleaned and most days the compressor was powered down. Ben and Scott are also #1 rated as Ikea closet organizer assemblers, there work was upstanding. York Custom Renovators did an excellent job for us.

On two occasions I have had work done at my home by Scott. He is always willing to entertain dreams you may have and will happily find out how to make them come true. His attention to detail, such as level floors, or finishing walls and windows, is exceptional. Clean up is done at the end of each day. He has a plethora of experts who make sure your special requests are honoured. Each day he reports what was done and what the plan is for the next day so that you are aware of what is happening; after all, it is your home!

York Custom Renovators renovated our kitchen in 2012 and transformed it into a beautiful, functional and modern space. Since that time, we trust Scott and York Custom Renovators with all of our renovation needs. They have worked on our bathroom, back entryway, garage, and porch and we have been more than pleased and ecstatic with every project they have completed. Scott and his team are highly knowledgeable, hard-working, professional, warm, and always work with a great attention to detail. Let us save you the trouble of calling six or seven or eight contractors…Just call Scott. Contractors can normally be impossible to get ahold of. If you call Scott you can usually get him on the phone right away or even text him and he will answer usually within minutes. The job site would always be spotless at the end of the day. He was always open on the cost of everything,he stuck to the timeline he had given us and if there was any adjustments needed to the budget he would always let us knows there wasn’t a surprise at the end of the job.
Even before he was awarded the job,Scott spent hours at our house just making sure that he was aware of every situation. Really was turn key. We would absolutely recommend York Custom Renovators to anyone. There is probably and un written rule somewhere that says that the contractor/client relationship should sty that way but…Scott really makes it feel like you have a friend working on your renovation.
A couple of years ago, my wife and I found mold in one of our bathrooms and decided that it was time to not only tackle that, but also do some other needed renovations.
We looked at many capable contractors, and finally settled on York Custom Renovators. The biggest reason for choosing Scott was that of all the contractors we met with, not only did we get the best impression of his competency and capabilities from him and some of the work we saw through his referrals and references, but his ideas and suggestions resonated with us the most and offered us other options than what we had considered.
What I appreciated most from Scott was that he set expectations early and was honest from the beginning. He told us to expect the unexpected and keep budget aside for unknown events.
From the beginning, it became very clear that we had made the right choice. Immediately we ran into problems, which Scott had prepared us for that might happen, but he dealt with them immediately and efficiently. Not only did he regularly communicate with us to discuss how to best address these ‘surprises’ in proper, but also in a cost effective manner.
It was immediately apparent that the quality of Scott’s work and professionalism was first rate. He and his crew were on time, they were polite, conscientious and aware of their surroundings.
They made the utmost attempts to keep the impact of their work to a minimum. After all, we were still living in the house. To the delight of my wife, they took great care to make sure they cleaned up after themselves every night.
As the scope of work grew, Scott constantly made sure we understood new timeframes and what to expect.
At the end of the project, we couldn’t have been happier with the quality and finish of Scott’s work. You truly get what you pay for with York Custom Renovators.
